Form of workReporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will work on month end and year end processes, including being a subject matter expert for accounting practices such as IFRS 16. We are looking for an individual with demonstrated accounting experience, a positive and proactive attitude and enthusiasm to thrive in the fast-paced nature of the Retail industry.
What does the role involve?
- Preparation and review of monthly accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly reports
- Involvement with the year end statutory accounting process
- Responsible for the external audit process relating to Fixed Assets and occupancy
- Maintenance and ownership of the fixed asset register
- Manage leasing & Occupancy accounting practices, including IFRS 16
- Preparation and delivery of budgets and forecasts and assist in the preparation of the monthly profit & loss
- Manage, support and mentor one direct report
- Identification and implementation of process improvements
Who are we looking for?
- Fully CA or CPA qualified
- Ideally you will come from a Big 4 or Mid-Tier Accounting Firm background
- Experience within a Retail environment will be looked upon favourably
- Intermediate and above Excel Skills (Pivot Tables & V-Lookups)
- Experience with IFRS 16 and other leasing accounting practices will be highly regarded
- Strong communication skills to be able to deal with an array of stakeholders
