The Game Management Authority (GMA) is an independent statutory authority responsible for the regulation of game hunting in Victoria. It delivers programs to improve and promote sustainable and responsible hunting in Victoria.
The GMA is responsible for:
• issuing Game Licences and related testing;
• managing open and closed seasons for game species;
• enforcing game hunting laws and taking action against those who do not hunt legally; and
• educating and informing hunters on how to hunt legally and responsibly in Victoria.
Senior Game Officer
- Salary: $92,332 - $104,762 (Plus Superannuation)

The Team
The position of Senior Game Officer forms a part of the Compliance and Intelligence Division within the Game Management Authority.
The Game Management Authority (GMA) delivers programs to improve and promote sustainable and responsible game hunting in Victoria. The GMA is responsible for:
- issuing Game Licence's and related testing;
- managing open and closed seasons for game species;
- enforcing game hunting laws and acting against those who do not hunt legally; and
- educating and informing game hunters on how to hunt legally and responsibly in Victoria.
Senior Game Officers (SGOs) deliver high quality community-centred game hunting compliance services within a state segment (Eastern or Western Victoria), while also contributing to state-wide service delivery. SGOs actively contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate enforcement, education, engagement, and other strategies in accordance with whole of organisational objectives and priorities, to maximise compliance.
- Mandatory requirements include a qualification as an Authorised Officer Basic (Legal 1) or equivalent and a current Victorian Diver's Licence.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and sound judgement.
- Highly developed ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders or groups.
- Ability to clearly and confidently communicate with all people at all levels in the organisation and the community.
- Proven planning and organisational experience where clearly defined objectives and priorities are set.
- Strong problem-solving experience liaising with key stakeholders.
- Strong team work is crucial in this role.
