Implementing and ensuring compliance of work contractors to the project-level ES&H management program, you will provide assistance to project and construction management with project ES&H requirements and in addressing ES&H issues during Project execution.
Your Duties Will Include
- Assist in the development of the Project ES&H Management Program and associated supporting documentation.
- Implementing and ensuring compliance of work contractors to the project-level ES&H management program.
- Providing assistance to project and construction management in implementing and complying with project ES&H requirements and in addressing ES&H issues as they arise during Project execution.
- Coordinate with and provide technical assistance to other project-assigned functional leads (e.g., engineering, subcontracts, procurement, project controls) with regards to compliance with Project-specific ES&H requirements.
- Attend and participate in meetings with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of ES&H requirements.
- Provide technical support and assistance directly to construction supervision and subcontractors in planning and executing field activities in accordance with the Project ES&H requirements.
- Provide support in comprehensive project ES&H planning, safety and health specific plans, project specific mitigation plans, safety and health awareness training programs, and technical and regulatory reports.
- Conducts safety assessments/inspections of project construction activities to monitor compliance with ES&H requirements including contractual commitments, laws and regulations, and the Project’s ES&H plan.
- Work with construction personnel to develop risk assessments, JHA’s and project specific mitigation plans, safety and health awareness training programs, and technical and regulatory reports.
- Degree or Gradate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related science/engineering area preferred.
- Diverse experience in ES&H role.
- Experience working in construction and mining industry.
- Working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations, compliance audits and project health surveys is preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting ES&H training programs.
- Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis.
- Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft software applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
- Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training preferred.
