About the role:
We have a permanent opportunity for an Occupational Health & Safety Senior Advisor to join our new Metropolitan safety team.
You will be responsible for Coaching and Mentoring our Frontline Field leaders to continually improve Occupational Health and safety capability, culture, and outcomes.
What the role will involve:
- Lead, coach and develop the Team Leaders and other relevant employees to ensure they have the knowledge that meets agreed safety objectives.
- Provide OSH expertise and direction, advice and support to internal and external stakeholders in relation to safety policies, procedures and practices.
- Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships that promote successful delivery of OSH objectives and targets for all relevant stakeholders.
- Mentor, coach and educate all relevant stakeholders in appropriate hazard identification and risk management and control process.
- Develop corrective and preventative strategies and action plans to address and mitigate identified hazards /risks, plus share learnings.
- Lead and conduct appropriate site safety inspections and audits, to verify that applicable OSH and contract specific standards, systems and processes are being complied with from a business and legislative perspective.
About you:
Ideally you will have a qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or experience within the industry is highly desirable. You will have advanced knowledge of OSH Legislation, including Acts, Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice.
We are looking for someone with high levels of personal responsibility and accountability with a strong focus on results. You will have excellent analytical and negotiation skills and have the ability to coach, advise and influence others. You will have a recognised white card and a current driver’s licence.
