Senior HR Advisor

Corrective Services Business Partnering

Location: Long Bay Correctional Complex (Malabar) with flexible working arrangements

Employment type: Ongoing, Full-time x1 and Temporary, Full-time up to 15 months x1

Salary: Clerk 9/10, $120,859 to $133,183 plus employers' contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The Senior HR Advisor role is a member of the Corrective Services HR Business Partner Team and is responsible for providing sound HR advice and support to Security & Custody business units in the Sydney Metro-West region.

The role is flexible with hybrid working possible. Regular travel will be required within the Sydney Metro region to provide onsite support and advice to clients.

What you'll do

Your role is to partner with managers at all levels to deliver best practice HR advice and consultancy services to support CSNSW achieve its objectives, including:

  • Operational Workforce Planning.
  • Recruitment and Selection.
  • Attendance Management.
  • Resolution of Workplace Issues (grievances).
  • Alignment of the Culture to the DCJ Values.
  • Implementation of the Annual Performance Management Program.
  • Management of underperformance and unsatisfactory performance.
  • Change management advice and support.
  • Establishment management quality assurance.

What we're looking for

In addition to meeting the essential requirements, the successful candidate must demonstrate the capability to:

  • Develop effective business partner relationships with all levels of management to influence, coach and become a trusted advisor.
  • Lead, develop, coach, and provide ongoing support to direct report/s and clients.
  • Communicate effectively and present on a range of HR topics to promote and support workforce strategies.
  • Think strategically and research and analyse information to make recommendations.
  • Collaborate and obtain customer feedback to inform policies, procedures, systems, and services.
  • Use a range of IT applications and systems to maximise efficiency and effectiveness and maintain appropriate records.
  • Plan and co-ordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Maintain a high level of motivation, resilience, and perseverance.
