About the role
McIlwain are looking to expand their HR team with a Senior HR Generalist. Primarily assisting in the development and retention of current employees, the Senior HR Generalist would visit McIlwain’s project sites, liaise with Project Managers and employees at all levels to assist in giving advice and support in career progression.
The Senior HR Generalist would also be responsible for assisting the Talent Acquisition Specialist with various recruitment tasks on an as needed basis.
The ideal applicant will have experience across modern award interpretation and visa/sponsorship applications, a love for HR and strong stakeholder engagement skills with a confident and approachable coaching style.
Responsibilities
- Implement career development plan to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Identify training needs and collaborating with managers to address gaps and promote continuous learning.
- Develop and coordinate mentoring programs.
- Assist with the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the attraction, retention, and development of top talent.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Review, update and prepare HR documentation such as contracts, general letters and more.
Skills & experience
- 6+ years of experience within HR
- Degree or Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources
- Strong experience in Employee Relations and L&D
- In-depth and up to date knowledge of relevant legislation
- Good time management with the ability to work well in fast-paced environments.
