Requirements
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer working within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Simplification Project with the Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD).
The Project Officer role will directly support the day-to-day work of the project manager including performing administrative tasks, helping to monitor deadlines, reporting, minute taking, maintaining project artefacts, and assisting with implementing frameworks.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of, or a keen interest in learning more about the ICT project environment, and have strong transferable skills such as stakeholder management, time management, and organisation / coordination.
Responsibilities across multiple project implementation streams:
- Plan meetings and project logistics
- Attend meetings on the project managers behalf and record minutes.
- Initial development and ongoing maintenance of project artefacts used to track overall progress including Registers (risks, issues, decisions, actions), the project schedule, Budget sheets, and the project Teams site.
- Monitor project progress and support the creation of project status reports for the Project Board.
- Support the preparation of draft project documentation in line with the PRINCE2 documentation suite.
- Prepare briefing material to support the project manager.
- Develop in-depth understanding of project scope and particulars i.e. timeframes, financials, risks, benefits.
- Lead team meetings, when required, such as stand-up and team meetings and report identified risk/issues/blockers to the project manager.
- Carry out other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate to the role as directed from time to time.

Essential criteria
1. 2+ years of experience working in a project coordinator or administrative role
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3. Proven ability to coordinate activities and prioritise tasks to meet outcomes within required time frames.
4. Demonstrated competence in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Project, Excel and Microsoft Teams.
5. An understanding of financial management including budget management.
6. Demonstrated analysis and reporting skills.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience working on ICT projects that that relate to software development.
2. Any Project Management qualifications or understanding of project management frameworks such as Prince2, PMP/PMI, ITIL, and agile ways of working.
3. Experience with DevOps
