Your future role:
Could you be the Senior IR Advisor we're looking for? The primary purpose of this role is to support the formulation and delivery of V/Line’s Industrial Relations agenda. Reporting to the Manager, Industrial & Employee Relations you will have direct involvement in enterprise bargaining, dispute resolution and management of organisational stakeholders.
We’ll look to you for:
-Supporting the Manager Industrial & Employee Relations in leading enterprise bargaining processes including all associated consultation, drafting, costing and stakeholder engagement
-Leading negotiations with employee and union bargaining representatives as required
-Advising the organisation on industrial disputation, including risk mitigation and associated legal processes
-Assisting in the preparation of briefing papers in relation to IR matters,
-Supporting engagement and consultation with key Victorian Government stakeholders
-Providing advice to managers on all aspects of workplace relations policies and procedures, counselling and disciplinary processes, contracts of employment and enterprise bargaining agreements
-Preparing carefully drafted documentation and maintaining accurate records
-Reviewing and developing of Employee Relations policies and procedures
-Leading dispute resolution, including advocacy and managing matters before the Fair Work Commission
-Interpretating legislation, case law, employment contracts, enterprise agreements and awards
-Researching and preparing reports to management on a variety of people management / workplace relations related matters and prepare higher level correspondence
-Interpretation of awards and other instruments pertaining to industrial affairs matters impacting on employee management
-Promoting constructive communications with relevant unions and government stakeholders
All about you:
-Tertiary degree in a related field
-Proven background working in an internal role responsible for conducting investigations and managing employee relations matters
-Rail/heavy manufacturing, mining or construction Industrial Relations experience
-High level of understanding of Employment Law
-Confident and can articulate your views and advice clearly to a broad range of people
-Comfortable working autonomously, and as part of a national team
