How will I help?
Infrastructure & Operations is embarking on a new operating model putting Westpac technologists in the driving seat by investing in our Level 3 engineering skills to enable a proactive operating model. The Senior Infrastructure Services Specialist within the Mainframe Infrastructure Services team is required to lead and support Westpac's complex mainframe environment within their technical expertise.
The role plays an important role in the development and maintenance of technical solutions within the Mainframe and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose. Further, this role is open to both Melbourne and Sydney based candidates as well.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for supporting the Mainframe Service supported by WBC team, vendors and third-party suppliers, including technical delivery\validation of approved implementations and proposed configurations.
- Responsible for Mainframe Automation within the Mainframe Service.
- Responsible for providing Mainframe Infrastructure & Operations expert technical advice and superior customer service for resolution of complex problems/incidents or implementation of major changes.
- Responsible for providing\supporting Mainframe technical advice for continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for evaluating & delivering technical changes, providing subject matter expertise to validate provided proposals and implementation plans, and driving the assessment of root causes and corrective actions.
- Provides active support and expertise in the formulation of Infrastructure patterns and standards for effective service strategy and lifecycle planning.
- Continuous learning to stay ahead of the latest developments in Infrastructure technology. Continually evaluates and understands.
- Provides and ensures effective technical governance over services delivered by partners, vendors and third party suppliers on a day-to-day basis.
- Supports and advises in monitoring and governance of service performance management with a customer obsessed mindset.

What do I need?
Required Skills:
- Relevant IT industry experience with at least 3 years in a highly technical role.
- Experience with installing, customising and maintaining IBM Z System Automation.
- Experience with installing, customising and maintaining IBM Z Netview.
- Experience with installing, customising, and maintaining Broadcom CA OPS/MVS and Broadcom CA SOLVE Operations.
- Proven ability to design, code, test, document and implement complex programs/scripts in a Mainframe Automation product.
- Knowledge of Apache Tomcat, CA Alert Central, CA Automation Point and Alert Manager.
- Experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment incorporating planning, implementation, operational management, configuration, and maintenance.
- Knowledge in IBM Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS).
- Proven programming skills in a Mainframe programming language.
- Full understanding of IBM Z Systems and Operations.
- Knowledge of other System Z products such as z/OS, IMS, CICS, DB2.
- Knowledge of CA Normalised Integration Management (NIM) for Service Management.
