Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant in the Hall Chadwick Perth Office. This candidate will play a critical role in providing professional restructuring and turnaround services. You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, strategizing to  solve financial challenges, and implementing plans to achieve business objectives.

A strong understanding of the restructuring and insolvency industry is desirable, and the successful candidate will champion the firm’s growth.

Primary Responsibilities

Technical capabilities

  • Insolvency management – Playing a critical role in all aspects of insolvency administrations, including voluntary administrations, liquidations, receiverships, small business restructures, and bankruptcies. Assisting with sale of property, verification of claims, stakeholder management, forensic investigations, and litigation support.
  • Restructuring and turnaround – Assist in the development and implementation of turnaround plans, working closely with the team to improve financial stability, optimise operations, and improve outcomes.
  • Financial analysis – Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of companies, including interrogation of financial statements, management accounts, and business records. The candidate will identify key financial issues and determine strategies for business performance.
  • Operational management – Conduct risk assessments, cash flow forecasts, and financial models to assist with the decision-making process. Preparation of stakeholder reports, appropriate taxation obligations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration – Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external members, including legal professionals, tax experts, and other professionals to deliver solutions.

 Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business accounting, finance, or business law (preferred). Candidates holding a professional accounting qualification or in the process of obtaining the qualification are desirable.
  • Candidates who have commenced advanced insolvency studies, such as the Australian Restructuring, Insolvency, and Turnaround Association’s Advanced Insolvency course are desirable.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills. A strong understanding of financial statements, financial analysis techniques, and accounting principles assists with devising solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will engage with stakeholders, prepare reports, and present complex financial information in a sensible manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MYOB / Xero electronic account software.
