AQ have a team of inhouse Interior Designers that deliver projects across all organisation's sites.
AQ Design is growing through significant expansions and are seeking a skilled Senior Interior Designer to bring creativity and expertise to a vibrant team. We currently have several various scaled projects underway which will allow you to have immediate impact and input into. The role will require you to manage & implement projects from our headquarters in Upper Mt Gravatt across our various sites.
Your Role:
As the Senior Interior Designer, you will lead multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with AQ Designers and Design Manager as well as external Architects & consultants to deliver excellent quality work. The role is diverse requiring multilayered skills across design disciplines necessitating you to have a keen eye for all aspects of design as well as the ability to execute strong design projects of various scales, budget and timeframes. Other key factors of this role include:
- Contribution in preliminary project meetings within the organisation discussing potential & feasibility of future projects as well as identifying opportunities across sites to present to key stakeholders.
- Preparing project requirement briefs to direct architects and consultants on various scale projects, from new developments to cosmetic upgrades across the sites.
- Ability to work collaboratively with design team and Design Manager to review and consult with external architects & consultants, including reviewing design concepts & ideas, documentation, collating information and design work for feedback and ongoing review through the project execution. Attendance at project meetings.
- High-level problem-solving skills, considering all aspects of the situation and thinking with quick response time.
- Able to deliver interior design projects from Concept phase right through to Construction documentation. Alongside a strong knowledge of FF&E and decoration within projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple projects, collaborating with key organizational stakeholders.
- Deliver design solutions with a focus on innovation and user-centricity.
- Take ownership of assigned projects from inception to completion.
- Produce 2D sketch designs, 3D models to communicate detailed designs at DD stage, comprehensive construction documentation and schedules, including finishes.
- Furniture and artwork/decorative selections and coordination.
- Manage supplier relationships and oversee project logistics.
- Flexibility to travel to sites across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba and NSW.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in a design studio environment.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong design skills and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian Standards.
- National Police Check clearance and current Australian Open Driver's License.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
