About the role
Scott Carver is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join the team. The ideal candidate would have 10+ years of experience within a variety of market experience, including multi residential, retail, hotel and hospitality. This role is best suited for someone who loves to be client facing and can pitch and present design concepts to clients, mentor junior staff, and manage projects from start to finish. The perfect opportunity for someone with the ability to run their own independent projects but also work within teams to drive interior components of multi-disciplinary projects when required. - Use your creativity and design skill to lead and assist in the development of interior design concepts, focusing on the quality of built space, sustainability, material selection and considered detailing.
- Create presentations and visualisation graphics and assist in communications to stakeholders. Ensure that you can pitch the design direction and recommendations.
- Assist in the Development of designs through to documentation and construction.
- Apply knowledge of construction regulations using the BCA and Australian Standards.
- Collaborate and communicate within teams, clients, consultants and contractors to drive results and deliver on our design commitments.
- Adhere to management systems to ensure quality of the project is achieved.
About you
You would have completed tertiary education in Interior Design and have 10+ years of professional local experience working within teams across design or construction phases that demonstrate:
- Confidence in presenting to a client.
- Design eye and confidence across all project phases.
- Experience across a number of core market typologies and or capacity to show how your design experience can translate to the core business focus of the practice including:
Multi residential including BTR, retirement living, build to sell
Retail and Mixed use
Hotel and Hospitality
Public Buildings
Commercial Workplace
- Experience in retail, hotel and residential is a high priority, being experiential led interiors.
- Strong graphic and design skills and the ability to develop concept presentations whilst guiding other designers both on the interiors and the architectural interaction
- A passion for finishes, materials and a great network of local suppliers.
- Strong Photoshop, InDesign, and Enscape skills.
- Revit experience preferred with some knowledge of working with linked models and families.
- Experience translating a concept design into a tender set of drawings and working with the design team to co-ordinate and develop projects to the tender and construction phase.
- Ability to exercise the skills and competencies commensurate with your experience.
