Land Management Officer
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Land Management Officer to contribute to Council’s success.
- Permanent full time, 9-day fortnight, finishing at 4pm

About the Role
The purpose of this position is to facilitate the delivery of the Land Management function across Council through specialist knowledge, technical investigations, research, preparation of documentation and stakeholder engagement supporting Environment & Conservation team and contributing to the sustainable management of Council’s Land assets.
Your role will include:
- Providing advice and undertaking Land Management tasks including land use, and tenure to achieve Council’s current and future interests are met.
- Contribute to the development of strategies and capital projects from a Land Management perspective.
- Being present, pro-active and solutions-focused and recognise that the community is the core of our business.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a complex customer focused role requiring significant stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated experience undertaking investigations, research and review of matters in a local government context.
- A sound working knowledge of land tenure including reserves, freehold, leasehold and secondary interests such as leases and easements.
- A sound knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire sound knowledge of relevant legislation including Land Act 1994 (Qld), Land Titles Act 1994 (Qld), Local Government Act 2009 (Qld) and the Planning Act 2016 (Qld) and relevant subordinate legislation.
- A sound understanding of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and ability to access and manipulate the data within the GIS (e.g. Geocortex, Queensland Globe etc).
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written English) skills to engage and negotiate with a broad client base.
- Effective problem solving, prioritisation and organisational skills to meet regular, concurrent, and conflicting deadlines and to resolve matters in the workplace.
