The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Learning & Development Consultant, and as part of the wider Learning and Development Division, you will play a key role in the development, facilitation, implementation and evaluation of L&D Programs and Initiatives within a capability and Competency-based Framework; which is a key and valued service provided to Department staff, Community Services Partner agencies and Carers.
As part of this role, you will develop and promote learning strategy and capability development in priority community services; in the areas of fostering and adoption, disability, therapeutic care, child protection and housing.
There is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling in the Disability Team. This role focus specifically in the delivery of training to staff working in direct care disability support services within the areas of Supported Community Living and Intervention Support Services. The training specifically aims to support disability staff in the delivery of NDIS and State government funded services, meet the regulatory compliance guidelines in supporting people with disability, and ensure a contemporary approach to support people with disability in a person centred way, focused on choice, control and great quality of life outcomes.
The successful applicants will be passionate and dedicated Learning and Development professionals with an engaging and innovative approach, you will have exceptional interpersonal skills and easily build rapport with people at all levels of the organisation. You have previous experience in working with people with disability and desirably knowledge of NDIS legislation.
