About the RoleThe Senior Lecturer plays a key role as part of the academic staff in Speech Pathology within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The role includes a significant contribution to quality research, administration, and leadership within the College and is vital in the planning and delivery of Speech Pathology topics and courses. The Senior Lecturer will also provide a significant and original high-quality contribution to the success of the Caring Futures Institute through collaboration and participation in cross-disciplinary research activity as well as exploring new partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders. It is expected that the Senior Lecturer will attract external grant income, publish in high quality academic journals, and supervise HDR students. This role also requires:Undertaking a lead role in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning for students which may include lectures, tutorials and curriculum development.Taking the role of Topic and Course Coordinator as required.Inspiring and innovative teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience, such as e-learning platforms.Hold and maintain a current membership with Speech Pathology Australia and be a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.About YouHaving completed a PhD or EdD or an equivalent qualification in a cognate field relevant to Speech Pathology, you will have experience in supervising and mentoring students undertaking Honours or a Research Higher Degree. You will have previously assisted in internal and external quality assurance and accreditation processes, in a college environment. You will also demonstrate:Relevant and extensive contemporary clinical and/or research experience in Speech Pathology, specifically in paediatric communication needs including speech, language and/or literacy.Significant evidence of successful relevant teaching experience at tertiary level.Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students and industry.Evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in an area of strategic research focus for the Caring Futures Institute, including evidence of sustained high-quality publications with evident senior authorship contribution.Life at FlindersWe're transforming and investing in people and facilities to create contemporary, stimulating, and satisfying learning and work environments that reflect our core values of excellence, innovation, courage, and integrity.
