The Legal team, led by a well-respected General Counsel, provides practical and well-considered advice to help the business through a complex environment and a time of great change.
Due to growth, there is now a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to join the Energy Projects team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements to support transmission infrastructure projects and other priorities
- Provide advice across a broad range of key areas, including energy projects and
- regulations (NEL/NER & other NSW and Commonwealth energy laws), competition law, corporate and commercial law (you do not need experience in all of these areas)
- Advise on complex tender processes including preparing and advising on capacity underwriting agreements and related agreements
- Advising on the establishment of frameworks to manage legal risk
- Manage external legal Counsel
- Advising on complex procurement processes, including probity and drafting tender documentation; and
- Advising on contract management (including claims), land, environment, planning and regulatory matters.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years post-admission experience in the transactional, construction, project, or energy space.
Ideally, you will have exposure to energy transactions, however, our client is open to hiring lawyers looking to gain a foothold in the renewable industry and can offer experience working on high-value and complex transactions.
Other requirements include:
- Leadership skills.
- Enthusiastic, positive attitude, willingness to learn and someone who is resilient.
- Excellent communication skills and experience managing stakeholders.
- Top tier/mid-tier law firm experience is ideal.
