Form of workAbout Your Role:
Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel – Transactions, the Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing transactional legal support services to the Downer Australia Operations, including:
- Advise and support to Downer executives, including briefing the Chief Legal Counsels and Group General Counsel and Company Secretary;
- Strategic advice, legal services, guidance and support to bid teams, including interfacing and negotiating with Downer customers;
- Legal support to project governance initiatives and, where required, report to project governance bodies/forums.
Skills & Experience:
- Full working rights in Australia
- Experience as a legal practitioner (minimum PQE 8+), both private practice and large in-house ASX listed organization experience desirable, but not essential;
- Experience in advising on complex transactions and project delivery issues in the sectors in which Downer operates;
- In-depth understanding of construction law and contracts;
- Strong stakeholder skills, mentoring and training junior colleagues.
