Working in an effective legal function you will work closely with the General Counsel, executive and site leadership across a broad mix of work, focussed on supporting the company’s existing (and future) Australian operations, including:
- providing legal advice on planning and approval matters for new operations or expansions/modifications to existing site operations;
- providing legal advice on environmental law issues;
- providing legal advice on mining and exploration related tenure in addition to real property matters;
- providing legal advice on native title and cultural heritage matters;
- providing legal advice on health and safety matters;
- coordinating and managing expert external counsel in the areas of health and safety, planning and approval, environment, mining tenure, real property, native title and cultural heritage matters; and
- management of site-based litigation where required.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- 8-12 years' PAE projects, energy & resources or planning & environment experience;
- exposure to mining/resources, infrastructure or heavy industry will be highly regarded;
- exposure to in-house is preferred including secondment experience; and
- a commercial approach and good communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
