Eternus is now seeking an experienced property or property and commercial lawyer to join our internal legal team, initially on a part-time basis.
About the opportunity
As the very first piece of our professional services offering, legal services (or Right Law) is a fundamental part of our DNA. It has scaled from a one-person operation in 2020, to a 11-person (7 lawyer) full-service commercial legal team - and our founder's ambitions, and inevitable growth, has only just begun.
As Senior Legal Counsel, working closely with our property department and reporting to our deeply experienced Legal Director, you will play a crucial role in supporting Eternus' goals in scaling our SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) property portfolio.
You'll be responsible for advising and guiding the business on a variety of commercial property matters, including:
- sales and acquisitions (due diligence, contracts, title searches, environmental assessments and compliance checks)
- residential and commercial property developments, including NDIS shared disability accommodation projects
- leasing and infrastructure projects, as well as associated financing and deal structuring
- land use, zoning and regulatory compliance
- general property matters including easements, titling and P&E matters.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A law degree, admission as a solicitor in Queensland and an unrestricted practising certificate
- A minimum of 8 years' PAE in property law - specifically, sales/acquisitions and development projects
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of property contracts and agreements
- Strong professional networks in planning & environment and commercial property supportive industries
- Experience or a strong interest in developing & contributing to firm templates and precedents
- First-rate communication and interpersonal skills, with experience dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders.
