About the role
Working in an effective internal legal function, you will work closely with, and report to our General Counsel, Executive and partner with site leadership across a broad mix of work, focussed on supporting the company's existing (and future) Australian operations, including:
- Providing legal advice regarding contractual arrangements for new operations or expansions/modifications to existing site operations;
- Providing legal advice on environmental law, approvals, mining and exploration related tenure, property etc.;
- Providing legal advice on native title and cultural heritage matters;
- Providing legal advice on health and safety matters;
- Coordinating and managing expert external counsel in the areas of health and safety, regulatory approvals, environment, mining tenure, real property, native title etc; and
- Management of site-based litigation where required.
The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis, working from our Fortitude Valley office with working from home options. Peabody offers flexible start / finish times and ‘redistributed working week' giving employees flexibility to finish at noon on Friday's.

To be considered for this role you will have:
- Admitted to practice with 8-10 years of experience.
- Experience in managing complex legal issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to communicate with people in a range of positions.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong business acumen, solution focused and commercial minded.
- Strong organisational, time management and attention to detail
