Job tasks and responsibilities
To be successful in this role our company is looking for the following key skills and experience:
- Responsible for all tasks related to transport/logistics inclusive of costs and budgets.
- Manage and develop processes for 4 person deliveries and assembly of products.
- Maintain receiving, despatching warehouse by initiating, co-ordinating and enforcing programs/processes to suit the ever-changing business.
- To carry out duties as described within the standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and job description as directed.
- Linehaul Management inclusive of costs and numbers
- organising the purchase and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment and fuel
- liaising with clients to determine requirements and providing customers with advice and
- information regarding vehicle type, purchase or hire rates and obligations and handling complaints
- receiving orders and bookings, and planning and implementing transportation schedules
- ensuring goods are stored and transported in conditions that will maintain their quality
- arranging collection and delivery of vehicles and goods
- maintaining business records and preparing operational statements and reports
- coordinating activities associated with the arrival, departure, loading and unloading of vehicles
- ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
Responsibilities
- Organise daily plan to warehouse staff for smooth picking, packing and staging process flow.
- Maintain accurate and timely Outbound, Inbound and Returns product database records.
- Maintain customer stock through - cycle counts and stocktake and report to AM/BDM/CS.
- Liaise with other members of the Customer Services Inter State Branches regarding product and deliveries.
- Work closely with Customer Service to ensure branch and customer orders are packed and despatched on time and DIFOT is achieved.
- Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Manage and implement the transport roster and ensure there are enough trained staff to meet workload demand all in line with budget allocation.
- Implement & manage key performance indicator (KPI’s) of staff in terms of compliance with quality, safety, health and environmental delivery on time requirements.
- Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.
- Re booking in deliveries and liaising with customers where need be.
- Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system.
- Ensuring all partners in the supply chain (customers & staff) are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicating effectively with clients and Account Managers responding to their requirements in a timely manner
- Booking sub-contractors and ensuring they deliver within agreed terms.
- Directing all transportation activities.
- Developing transportation relationships with drivers and subcontractors, loading dock managers etc.
- Managing & Monitoring transport costs.
- Negotiating transportation prices.
- Confronting climate change issues by implementing transport strategies and monitoring an organisation’s carbon footprint.
- Create annual forecasts & communicate customer plans, outlining all peak periods and sales that may impact the volume of deliveries to local operation manager in each state.
- Maintain & communicate and train DT team/staff on (SOP’s)
- Implement & manage key performance indicator (KPI’s) with clients.
- Enhances customer and company business relationships by responding to and resolving service issues raised by customers.
- Be available for all training sessions, meetings, stocktake, and functions organised by the company.
- Carry out any other duties as directed by management.
Salary $70,000 - $80,000 per annum exclusive of Superannuation
