As a Senior Legal Secretary, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our legal team and ensuring the smooth operation of their personal injury practice.
Your new role
As a Senior Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for a range of administrative and secretarial tasks related to personal injury cases. Your duties will include:- Assisting senior lawyers in managing personal injury files, including organising documents, maintaining case files, and tracking deadlines.
- Coordinating with clients, medical professionals, and other relevant parties to gather necessary information.
- Drafting and formatting legal documents, correspondence, and court filings related to personal injury claims.
- Providing compassionate and empathetic support to plaintiffs during their legal journey.
- Liaising with clients to schedule appointments, answer queries, and keep them informed about case progress.
- Ensuring all client communications are handled professionally and promptly.
- Assisting with court preparation, including organising exhibits, witness statements, and trial binders.
- Coordinating court appearances, hearings, and mediation.
- Maintaining court calendars and reminders for critical dates.
- Billing and Financial Administration:
- Managing billing processes, tracking billable hours, and preparing invoices.
- Handling expense reports, petty cash, and financial transactions related to personal injury matters.
- Answering phones, managing emails, and maintaining office supplies.
- Coordinating travel arrangements for legal team members.
- Assisting with any other administrative duties as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably with a focus on personal injury law.
- Proficiency in legal software (e.g., LEAP, Affinity, or similar).
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Plaintiff experience ESSENTIAL
