Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Level Piping Design / Drafter Checker who can work in a high pressure, face pace environment working on Structural design & detailing for a large-scale Oil and Gas Refinery. If you have a strong background in Piping Design/Drafter checking for an Oil and Gas or Mining company this is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable and growing company.
- Attractive Salary - $80 - $95/hr + super
- Office location: Port of Brisbane - Lytton
- 12 Months Contract - extension highly likely
- M-F 8hrs/day 40 hrs/week (overtime may be required)
- Start ASAP
- Checking of 3D model plant layout, checking for clash detection and for design errors.
- Ensuring design is compliant with all relevant company standards and Australian standards.
- Monitoring and maintaining all aspects of piping system design.
- Examining and evaluating all drawing packages provided by vendors to ensure project models are accurate.
- Checking of piping isometrics.
- Pipe support checking.
- Bill of material checking.
- Checking for structural and civil detail drawing accuracy.
- Working with designers and resolving design errors.
- Ability to interpret and use 3D laser scan point cloud data an advantage.
Successful candidates must possess significant knowledge and experience with;
• High school certificate (QCE or equivalent) including technical drawing/design experience.
• AutoCAD software experience.
• 3D drafting experience.
• Autodesk Plant3D & Navisworks experience.
• Cert IV Engineering Drafting or equivalent preferable.
• Senior level plant layout and design experience.
• Proficient Microsoft Office Skills.
