About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of SVHNS.

The successful applicant will require superior communication and financial skills to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of Financial and operational strategy and setting commercial direction for SVHNS by providing financial analysis, commercial insight and advice. This includes but is not limited to for the allocated Stream Portfolio:

• The preparation of month end financial reports in compliance with St Vincent's Health Australia ("SVHA") and St Vincent's Health Network Sydney ("SVHNS") policies and procedures.
• Preparation of the annual recurrent and capital budgets in conjunction with the Manager, Finance and Operational Efficiency.
• Working collaboratively with the Manager, Finance and Operational Efficiency and shared financial service providers to develop and implement improved financial procedures and practices across SVHNS.
• Working with the Manager, Finance and Operational Efficiency to review and develop costing, budget and reporting models and systems which meet the changing demands of the public health facilities.
• Managing the accounting aspects of Activity Based Funding across SVHNS together with the management of subsidy and other payments from the Ministry of Health and national funding bodies.
• Overseeing the SVHNS sustainability strategies to ensure financial savings are understood, implemented and achieved.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.
2. Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or other relevant discipline and membership of an appropriate professional accounting body or equivalent relevant experience.
3. Demonstrated experience (5-years minimum) in management accounting or finance business partnering within a large, complex organisation, using computerised financial accounting (Current financial system - Oracle), budgeting and management reporting systems.
4. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder communications skills, including demonstrated liaison and negotiation experience with a wide range of stakeholders including the Executive level.
5. Strong analytical skills and mindset, including the ability to conduct financial analysis using various statistical techniques, monitor and analyse data and perform modelling using Power BI to build and optimise dashboards and reports.
6. Strong understanding of public hospital revenue, funding arrangements, and cost drivers within the health industry.
