You will also be responsible for managing, monitoring, and reporting on TIQ's financial and management accounting activities including accounts payable and receivable transactions delivered by an external service provider.

About the business unit
The Corporate Services Division is responsible for leading the financial services, corporate governance and risks across its international organisation to ensure TIQ is enabled to achieve its objectives aligned to the strategic and business plans. The Division consists of two business units:

  • Finance: is responsible for the stewardship of the organisation's financial resources in accordance with the Trade and Investment Queensland Act 2013, Financial Accountability Act 2009 and Finance and Performance Management Standard 2019, as well as mitigating financial risks to the organisation, including fraud and corrupt conduct.
  • Corporate Governance: plays a critical role in providing support through implementing robust corporate governance controls, managing risks and compliance across the international network, in the areas of procurement and contract management, governance, compliance, risk management, integrity and internal audit.
Your contribution (key responsibilities and accountabilities)
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Contribute to the management of TIQ's corporate governance by assisting with developing and maintaining best practices for financial delegations, assurance activities, related strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Have sound knowledge of financial management legislation, primarily Financial Accountability Act 2009, the Financial and Performance Management Standard 2009 and relevant accounting standards.Develop and present TIQ's (domestic and international) yearly financial budgets and forecasts, ensuring the integrity of the information and achievement of target deadlines.
  • Provide expert analysis, advice, and high-quality customer service regarding all areas of reporting for internal and external financial and management accounting as it relates to TIQ's operations, including monthly, quarterly and end of year financial reporting and asset management.
  • Research and provide expert written / verbal advice and communications, including financial reports and ministerial correspondence, to high-level stakeholders including clients and client representative groups, Ministers, the TIQ Board and TIQ Senior Management.
  • Conduct financial management reviews (domestically and internationally) and prepare reports with recommended financial advice and solutions.
  • Identify financial training needs for domestic and international employees and develop and deliver training requirements as necessary.
  • Proactively monitor developments and initiatives impacting in financial administration functions and develop contemporary solutions using a relationship networking approach.
  • Manage and coordinate the budget activities and WoG requests from the Queensland Treasury Budget Office and other Tridata related deadlines for quarterly updates, mid-year review and budget build processes.
