Financial Services partners with all areas of CommBank to specialist advice, support and services in finance, audit, treasury, property, procurement, climate strategy, and investor relations.
The Capital & Regulatory Reporting Change team is responsible for providing capital and reporting guidance and overseeing the delivery of all Capital Changes including revisions to the capital and regulatory reporting frameworks.

The Capital & Regulatory Reporting Change team are responsible for ensuring the bank’s capital engine (GTRS) is correctly calculating capital, as required under APS 112 and APS 113. The team uses the PACE approach, with squads primarily comprised of Finance and Technology SMEs. To successfully perform this role, you will need to business strong relationship with stakeholders across the Group.
You will be responsible for working through any changes required to the capital engine including those arising from:
- Changes to existing source systems,
- The introduction of new products or systems,
- And the refinement of existing capital treatments.
- Working with credit policy to support implementation of any changes required in GTRS arising from changes in capital regulations or interpretations
- Working alongside reporting teams, business units, and technology stakeholders, to understand the requirements needed to develop solutions which correctly calculate capital under APS 112/113. Solutions may be required due to changes in upstream systems, introduction of new products, or implementation of new models
- Propose a solution addressing these requirements, considering the likely impacts on capital measures
- Implementing changes within the business rules engine, or working alongside developers to implement the solution, as needed
- Ensuring test results are as expected, including socialising test outcomes and obtaining sign-offs
- A large amount of ad-hoc work, including assessing the capital treatment of new products, and assisting with APRA and ABA requests
- You must adhere to the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions, and decisions we expect from our people.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory capital and/or reporting standards, credit risk modelling techniques and financial systems experience
- Relevant IT, Finance or Risk tertiary qualifications along with recognised industry certifications
- 7+ years experience in a banking, finance, or risk role using SQL, SAS, Ab Initio or equivalent data software
- Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to trace issues through to source and Excellent attention to detail
- Innovative and able to drive results across multiple stakeholders with different views with the ability to translate complex topics into digestible information
- Resilience, and a clear focus on results and delivery. An ability to quickly re-prioritise across multiple tasks is critical
