The Role

Are you passionate about developing strong relationships and driving retention and organic growth? This may be the role for you! 

Our boutique superannuation fund is going through some pretty exciting times, and we're looking for a Senior Manager, Region Growth to lead and coach a team of exceptional humans accountable for identifying, developing, and managing current and new growth opportunities that directly result in increased membership within assigned regions.

In addition to having ownership of your region’s stakeholder relationships (including employers), you will deliver sales initiatives that target our existing membership to improve retention outcomes and expose us to potential new members.    

How you'll make a difference

Leading a team of approximately 8 people encompassing Relationship/Account Managers and Specialists, you’ll succeed by:

  • Implementing our organic growth strategy, sales delivery and leading growth across assigned regions. 
  • Providing operational leadership of all employer, member and stakeholder activity for assigned regions, 
  • Developing and delivering sales initiatives that target our existing membership; particularly higher balance members and potential new membership cohorts. This may include member account management services, workplace sales, presentations, events, retirement workshops and virtual member engagement,
  • Supporting the Head of Growth in leading the creation of improved sales culture with metricated outcomes, developing our value proposition and working with the team to pursue regional growth initiatives, 
  • Owning the sales outcomes for your region/portfolio and being accountable to member growth targets, advice referrals and retention rates,
  • Developing sales/relationship management plans for each region - covering segmentation to target member and document treatment strategies and outcomes, 
  • Representing Brighter Super in assigned regions; fostering relationships that support improved brand recognition, member intimacy and ultimately making us the fund of choice.

What you'll bring

As a sales and relationships leader with the initiative, drive and motivation to provide an exceptional level of customer service, you’ll be energetic and sales minded, approachable, adaptable and flexible.

Our ideal candidate:

  • sees problems as opportunities, is self-confident and courageous, is responsive to evolving needs/priorities, is optimistic and has a high level of stress tolerance and emotional control,
  • has a high level of initiative, goal orientation and accountability,
  • displays excellent interpersonal skills; decisiveness and communication skills,
  • is socially astute; a team player guided by integrity, and trustworthiness. Open, self-reflective and trusted,
  • has superannuation or financial services industry experience (RG146)
  • role-models and champions a positive and collaborative culture.

Importantly, they’ll bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a management/leadership position preferably in sales, marketing, or relationship management,
  • Demonstrated success in implementing complex growth strategies and lead generation in a highly regulated environment,
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management, negotiation and promotional skills, particularly to executive level,
  • Well-developed listening skills with the ability to understand and analyse client needs and design effective solutions.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including ability to undertake presentations to groups including senior executives, 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales/Marketing or equivalent experience,
