u&u are proud to be partnering with a leading Investment Manager to support them with this exciting contract position. This role is part of the independent Line 2 Risk function which is led by the Chief Risk Officer. The Line 2 Risk team is part of the broader company Strategy, Risk and Corporate Affairs business unit.
What are the key duties?
- Be a credible partner to the business through advice and challenge while remaining independent;
- Guide the business by offering solutions to business opportunities that are practical, simple, compliant and within risk appetite;
- Oversee the consistent embedment of the Risk Management Framework and supporting policies through ongoing monitoring and targeted reviews aiding a strong risk culture;
- Deliver value by providing forward looking insights that enable the early identification and management of current and emerging risks;
- Support the risk management function in meeting and exceeding Boards and regulatory expectations;
- To provide independent oversight, advice and challenge across the CFS business so that the risk management framework is adhered to and risks are managed within appetite and consistent with CFS Risk Culture;
- Undertake Line 2 Oversight and Monitoring in accordance with the Integrated Assurance Plan;
- Work with key stakeholders to continuously improve risk management frameworks and practices maturing resilience and supporting compliance with CPS 230, FAR and changes to Risk Management Framework;
- Provide deep insights on current and emerging risks within the business and guidance on solutions for Management to consider. This should include local and international better risk management practices; and
- Support delivery of quality insightful Line 2 reporting for the relevant Board and Leadership Team.
Experience that would set you up for success:
- Subject matter expertise in Wealth;
- Thorough understanding of and ability to optimise Compliance and Operational Risk frameworks as business enablers;
- Demonstrated capability to be part of a high performing team;
- You will need to excel in and thrive on a very fast paced environment;
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills that enable effective stakeholder management;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills at all organisational levels;
- Ability to think critically, analytically synthesising data points to provide insights to solve problems;
- Solutions-oriented, pragmatic and commercial mindset; and
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Law or a related discipline.
