A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable professional to join QBE Insurance in the position of Senior Manager, Strategic Risk & Stress Testing. In this role you will be responsible for supporting key deliverables that form part of the Group Strategic Risk Management Team (SRM) accountabilities.
A key part of this role will be coordinating and driving the Group risk review of the business plan, the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Attestation process and mid-year performance health check as it relates to the SRM team accountabilities. This includes supporting the Head of Strategic Risk (HoSRM) with the planning, design of attestation packs, planning and coordination of responses, challenge and advice to FP&A and Divisional CRO senior stakeholders as it relates to the risk review of the Divisional and Group Business plans for the purposes of the GCRO opinion on the achievability of the strategic organisational plan.
The basis of challenge will be formed off the role's involvement and accountability for developing, maintaining, and executing key oversight and challenge activities as part of the Group-wide stress and scenario testing program of work and insights from the Group Top Risk profile.
Your new role
- Support the planning of the annual CRO review of the Group Business Plan (including half yearly health check)
- Support the HoSRM in providing oversight and challenge to the achievability of the Plan in the context of the risk exposure and long-term organizational strategy;
- Co-ordinate CRO Plan attestations in relation to the Groups business plan to enable a bottom-up" view of key risks to the confidence in the achievability of the plan and key actions and initiatives identified in the delivery of the plan;
- Co-ordinate and collaborate with Group FP&A teams during the half year and full year business plan processes to obtain timely visibility of Group outlook and associated risk identification in the lead up to the Risk and Finance reporting;
- Performing the 2LOD responsibilities in providing independent review and challenge of Stress Testing assumptions and outputs and second line opinion on Stress Testing outcome papers.
- Coordinating for materially significant scenarios and an annual review of the Stress Testing effectiveness to be submitted to the ERC.
- Perform role of Secretary of the Group Stress Testing Working Group (STWG)
- Advise and support to Divisional risk teams in implementing stress & scenario and Strategic Risk processes.
- Build strong relationships globally to enable a collaborative and transparent relationship stakeholders and business partners.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced professional with reporting, research or risk management experience in similar role, preferably within financial services.
You will also have;
- Knowledge on best practice of risks, controls and financial drivers.
- Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills - able to influence & engage with stakeholders at senior levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under time pressure and meet deadlines by applying strong project management skills.
- Strong risk management skills across a variety of risk processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Analytical skills and ability to identify trends.
- Demonstrated ability of Problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
