The teamThe Legal Services Team is responsible for the delivery of legal services across ASIC and is instrumental in driving ASIC's reputation as a modern and effective regulator and enforcement authority.Legal Services is led by the General Counsel, Executive Director and comprises the following teams: Enforcement Legal Services, Regulatory Legal Services, Corporate Legal Services, the Hearing Delegates Panel, and the Legal Operations Team.The Technology, Information & Data Law Team within Corporate Legal Services has an important role as ASIC continues to drive towards being a leading digitally enabled and Data-informed regulator.The roleAs Senior Manager, Technology, Information & Data Law, you will report to the Deputy General Counsel, Corporate Legal Services and lead a newly formed team responsible for the delivery of legal services and management of legal issues relating to technology, privacy, Information and Data protection, and ASIC's obligations pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).About youWe are looking for someone with experience leading a team of lawyers across a diversity of areas in a complex environment.You'll need substantial senior experience in legal matters involving complex technology, privacy, data and information law issues including in relation to technology procurement, deployment, and utilisation.Business partnering skills, with the credibility to operate at all levels and earn the trust of colleagues are essential along with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.About ASICASIC's remit is one of the broadest of regulators across the world.ASIC regulates corporations, markets, financial services and consumer credit, and monitors and promotes market integrity and consumer protection in the Australian financial system.Through our enforcement and regulatory work, we hold to account those who contravene the law, working to achieve strong outcomes that address the greatest consumer and investor harms.Through Moneysmart, we aim to improve the skills and knowledge of Australians and provide Information and tools to help them in their financial decision making.A future with ASIC means that your work will contribute to achieving ASIC's vision for a fair, strong, and efficient financial system for all Australians.ASIC is committed to a providing a diverse and inclusive workplace where the very best talent in Australia chooses to work.
