Senior Marine Surveyor / Superintendent

Due to sustained growth and continued success, Propel Marine are looking to add an experienced Marine Surveyor/ Superintendent to our talented team in Perth to play a vital role in our expansion. 

The successful candidate will be actively involved in field activities, delivering high standard solutions and collaborating with our team of experienced professionals in Australia and beyond to meet their full potential.

Base location is Perth, travel is a role requirement.

About you: 

• Class I Master Mariner Certification or Diploma in Marine Surveying – required
• Authorised Officer and/or Grain Accreditation, to conduct Grain Exports Inspection - required 
• Minimum 1 years sailing experience in the rank of Master - advantageous
• Minimum 24 months sea time on bulk carriers in the rank of Chief Officer or Master Mariner - advantageous 
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Marine Surveyor / Superintendent - advantageous 
• Conversant with local rules, regulations and terminal operations
• Valid MSIC
• Australian work-rights 
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Strong Communication skills
• Genuine service focus

Job Activities:

Marine surveys including but not limited to the following:

• Vessel and cargo safety, compliance and quality inspections and surveys 
• Safety, compliance and quality advisory
• Flag State Inspections
• AO inspections for Grain Exports
• Fitness To Load surveys for Grain Exports
• Attendance during Vessel Repairs 
• Port Captaincy
