This role is part of Fugro’s Marine Geoconsulting team of experts, who provide consultancy services to our clients within the fields of geology, geoscience, geophysics, and geotechnical engineering.

Some of our recent projects have included:

• Site characterisation, desktop studies and finite element modeling for various offshore windfarm projects in the Asia Pacific region
• Deep water geohazard assessments
• Geotechnical pipeline design
• Platform foundation design
• Detailed geotechnical interpretative reporting for major offshore energy projects

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Geologist / Geoscientist, who is responsible for analyzing and interpreting high-quality offshore geo-data to provide accurate and customized advice to clients on their individual project needs. Your day-to-day duties and focus will include:

• Perform technical duties related to geology or engineering geology working closely with the project team and technical authorities
• Preparing ground and geological models, geohazard analyses and compiling technical reports to be reviewed and approved by another technical authority
• Utilize geological software and tools to interpret data and assess site geology and potential geological hazards for project sites
• Create presentations and workshops to inform clients about the outcomes and potential next steps in their offshore project developments, covering both renewables and oil/gas sectors
• Collaborate and share information with team members, whilst also mentoring and supporting less experienced staff
• Potentially be able to perform offshore field work (up to 60 days) and travel as required

About You

Your success in securing this role will require:

• Proven experience (ideally 3-4 years’) in a similar role within the offshore industry
• Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in geology / engineering geology / geoscience / geophysics or a related discipline
• Be creative and willing to consider new approaches to solving problems
• Enjoy a challenge, learning new skills, and be prepared to go the extra-mile to meet our clients’ expectations
• Practical offshore site investigation experience will be an advantage as would having an interest in working offshore
