SUMMARY

Supporting the VP Marketing, the Senior Marketing Manager, APAC is an integral role for the international marketing team. By leading in-country activities across Australia and APAC, this role will increase the awareness of the brand in the region, with a specific focus on producing marketing activity and communications that support brand awareness and revenue generating campaigns.

This is a fast paced and results focused environment, so it is key that the successful candidate is able to manage their own workload effectively and respond to changes, whilst supporting the VP, Marketing and the wider team with ad-hoc marketing activities. They will also be responsible for management and development of a Marketing Executive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Country Manager and VP, Marketing to develop integrated country-specific marketing plans with programs that are aligned to regional revenue targets and global marketing objectives
  • Develop and manage APAC marketing budget, measuring and optimising marketing programs to ensure activities are effective, and demonstrate ROI
  • Manage all aspects of hosted and sponsored events in APAC including pre-, during- and post-event activity
  • Create APAC thought leadership strategies that drive local brand awareness and support key business goals. Manage and develop content for Rakuten Advertising's blog and social pages, in collaboration with Content & Campaign Director, regional and global marketing teams
  • Manage and implement the go-to-market strategy of global media-related campaigns across APAC, including internal communications. Manage the development and delivery of regional media-related campaigns
  • Support translation by reviewing content translated by third parties and carrying out ad-hoc translation requests, ensuring all published content is of a professional standard and accurately portrays the Rakuten Advertising brand
  • Ensure that senior stakeholders are regularly communicated with, in an appropriate format
  • Provide management to direct reports, providing clear success criteria, ongoing feedback and motivating individuals to high performance

  • Demonstrable knowledge of marketing best practices and multiple marketing channel execution
  • Ability to write engaging content, adjusted for the audience and the medium
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship development skills, with the ability to influence outcomes with persuasiveness and candor
  • Solid experience of budget management/ROI analysis and reporting to different stakeholder levels
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, coupled with the proven ability to set priorities and manage deadlines. Ability to multi-task across different channels
  • Results focused and organized with a strong desire to succeed and progress. You like to make things happen in a creative, solution-focused way
  • Ability to manage and lead people with an understanding of communication styles; engages with and motivates others to deliver high performance and developmental growth
  • Adaptive to change with a positive, can-do mentality, even when under pressure

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years' experience in a multi-channel marketing role within a B2B, SAAS or digital marketing business
  • Ability to speak and write English to a professional standard is a must, a second language (Chinese, Korean, Malay) is a nice to have
  • Understanding of the online marketing and retail sectors and trends within APAC region
