Senior Materials Planner

About the Role

We have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Materials Planner to join the team, this role is to support the Supply Chain through execution of the materials planning strategy and ensure consistency in process and approach.

You will lead a team of up to 5 direct reports who are responsible for ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time. This position has flexibility to have work from home / office split and has flexibility in start and finish times to suit your lifestyle.

Responsibilities

• Coach guide and mentor a small group of Materials Planners
• Manage a small portfolio of suppliers and their day-to-day activities such as placing orders, ensuring delivery is made on time, ensuring payment of invoices etc
• Manage inventory holdings based on a sound understanding of production requirements, contractual obligations, and available warehouse space
• Drive change and improvements with the suppliers
• Identify opportunities for improvement and cost avoidance, and translate into action while creating team buy in

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline or experienced in a similar role
• Knowledge and experience in the FMCG industry preferably short shelf-life products
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, being able to facilitate change through continuous improvement activities
• Understand contractual constraints and Service Level Agreements while being capable of making decisions quickly to respond to changing priorities
• Ideally have leadership experience, or have been a 2IC and be ready to take the next step in your career
• Quick learner who is curious and asks questions and challenges the status quo. Someone who is able to learn and gather information in challenging situations
