Orontide is a leading Western Australian company providing specialist engineering, fabrication, preservation, and integrity maintenance services to the Oil & Gas, Mining, Naval Defence, Marine and Commercial Industries.
As a result of the company’s continued growth, an excellent opportunity has become available for a well-rounded Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Henderson based team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversees various projects from initial involvement with Managers/Supervisors through to final installation, delivery or completion.
- Ensure the design teamwork is carried out within the procedures outlined within our Intralogic Document Control System, Quality Control and drafting requirements.
- Primary point of contact for engineering requests and technical solutions to maintenance and capital project problems
- Ensuring the design team continues to meet or exceed the certification and accreditation requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001
- Design of mechanical equipment and components for manufacture and site construction
- Design of basic structural elements
- Developing data sheets, detailed calculation books, work packs, specifications and reports.
- Specification of materials and familiarity with quality management requirements, inspection and testing.
To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience in a Mechanical Engineering role, minimum 5 years
- Experience in material handling and processing plant systems and components; for example, pulleys and chutes deflectors
- Mechanical Engineering design to standards such as AS3990 and AS1403
- Experience in some structural design work is desirable to AS4100 and AS1170.
- Be familiar with design office procedures and processes.
- Ability to work unsupervised, within a team as well as with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge and hands on experience in using SolidWorks software for modelling, drafting, drawing generation and FEA calculations will be highly regarded.
