The role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing site-based technical support and guidance in the areas of engineering, reliability and statutory compliance. In this role, you will be required to identify and deliver asset improvement projects, develop asset management plans, identify and monitor mechanical reliability risks and implement mitigation strategies, assist in the breakdown of investigations and conduct L1 and L2 Root Cause Analysis. You will also be required to optimise cost improvements or cost reductions through diligent project management and initiate and project manage operational projects, ensuring works are compliant with site and Australian standards. One of your key roles will be to ensure the safety of contractors who report directly to you.

Selection Criteria

Together with your Mechanical Engineering degree, you will have demonstrated knowledge of reliability and asset life planning strategies and solid experience in fixed plant and underground mine assets including pumps, pipes, crushers, winders and rollers. You will also have sound knowledge of industry standards relating to fixed plant equipment compliance. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team of contractors is also desirable. Your energy and enthusiasm with your ability to get things done in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, without compromising quality, will see you secure this excellent contract role.
