With its reputation and continued success this Melbourne based consulting firm is a services provider of choice to many organisations. They deliver a range of engineering services across multiple disciplines and market sectors including Aged Care, Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, Institutional, Industrial and Mixed Use Developments.
Your new position
Due to a recent team restructuring, they are now seeking an experienced Senior / Associate Mechanical Engineer to take leadership of their Mechanical team. This is a newly created role to complement their continued success in the Victorian market and their increasing project pipeline. This is a hands-on role reporting to the Managing Director that will require you to manage the mechanical team and lead the technical design on various project portfolio as a Project leader.
Your strong technical ability to complete engineering analysis and design of mechanical systems will enable you to succeed in this role whilst efficiently mentoring and assisting skilled engineers and drafters.
Your key duties will include:

• The management and leadership of the Mechanical team by effectively delegating responsibilities and supervising the work of direct reports, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
• Client management
• Identifying tendering opportunities and coordinating their timely and successful submission
• Attending external meetings with architects, consultants, developers and stakeholders
• Acting as the Lead Design Engineer and Project Leader for various projects
• Participating in business development, resource allocation, financial forecasting and marketing activities
• Liaising with multidisciplinary teams and internal management tea
• Fostering ethical and responsible decision making within the engineering management team

The key criteria to be successful in the role:

• An Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
• Proven local engineering consulting experience in the Australian market and the ability to deliver engineering solutions
• A strong project portfolio and technical ability to lead the engineering design on commercial, residential, educational, mixed-use and/or aged-care developments
• Registered building practitioner (VIC)
• Accredited Green Star Professional (an advantage, but not essential)
• Comprehensive knowledge of local building codes and standards
• Excellent management and team work skills
• Ability to inspire and influence junior and senior staff
• Previous experience in stakeholder management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Your remuneration and the perks on offer
An above market salary package and benefits will be offered which is negotiable to the successful applicant depending on experience. You will work in a modern newly fitted Melbourne office with first class amenities accessible via private and public transport. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on significant project portfolios with an established team as your support.
Car park can also be provided as part of your package.
