Your new company
This State Government department in South Australia is responsible for delivering a range of services and programs to the community. They are looking for a Senior Media Advisor to join their team immediately on a temporary basis, with the possibility of extension.
Your new role
Are you an experienced and creative media professional looking for a short-term contract opportunity? Do you have excellent writing, editing and online content skills? Can you deliver effective media and communication strategies for a range of projects and initiatives?
You will also provide an effective and responsive media management service, build and maintain key media relationships, produce high quality copywriting for various communication mediums, and deliver engaging online content for social channels and websites.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:- A tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, public relations or a related discipline
- Sound political awareness and judgement around potential risks, ensuring relevant stakeholders are notified
- Demonstrated experience in media relations ideally in a Government setting
- Proven ability to write in a variety of styles and formats for a broad range of audiences across different media platforms
- High-level skills in online content creation, social media management and web publishing
- Sound knowledge of media monitoring and evaluation tools and techniques
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- The ability to hold an NPC and DHS WWCC
