Key Accountabilities
- Develop compelling content, including media releases, Q&As, social media posts, talking points,
Ministers and the senior executive.
- Work with internal business units and key stakeholders to identify, plan and execute proactive,
- Monitor and identify proactive and reactive media issues impacting the Department and identify media
- Support the organisation and management of media conferences and events with the Associate
- Establish relationships and work closely with key stakeholders to understand expectations, including
- Develop and seek approval for media strategies and contribute to wider communications strategies.
- Analyse data to underpin stories that also incorporate case studies and story talent.
- Work closely with the social media and video content teams to ensure the Department uses

- Balancing departmental role and responsibility when delivering essential government information.

About You
- You have demonstrated experience crafting media and communications material and working directly with the media to deliver government communications.
- You have experience dealing with ministers, ministerial advisors, senior stakeholders and media outlets.
- You have demonstrated experience delivering media and communications projects using multiple communications channels.
- You can articulate complex information across a range of mediums in plain English.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience is essential
- After hours, on call and weekend work is required on occasion.
