Rate: Up to $600 - $800 per day + Super dependent on experience

The Senior Advisor, Media manages media initiatives, issues and opportunities for a designated portfolio or business unit to enhance and maintain Health Infrastructure’s reputation in the media.
Key Accountabilities
- Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to maintain a forward calendar of opportunities and achieve a coordinated media approach and narrative aligned with the agency’s vision and priorities.
- Prepare engaging, high quality and strategically aligned messaging and media materials including pitches, releases, statements, talking points and Q&A, within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Research and develop proactive story pitches along with relevant content/spokespeople to achieve Health Infrastructure’s strategic media objectives and enhance reputation.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with media contacts to ensure timely and accurate responses to enquiries and achieve a balanced view of agency activities and projects.
- Monitor the external environment for issues and proactively develop strategies and responses to minimise risk, ensuring timely escalation of advice to internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, Local Health Districts/Networks, Ministerial offices, government agencies and other relevant organisations for input to responses and proactive opportunities.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on media activities and outcomes to ensure alignment with objectives, inform future approaches, promote learnings among the wider team and advocate improvements.
- Actively identify and contribute to the evaluation of, and changes to, systems, procedures, and processes to optimise efficiency and support the continual improvement of services.
- Prepare considered and accurate information and materials in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with competing deadlines and changing priorities.
- Maintain awareness of Health Infrastructure activities, the broader NSW Health context and public issues to develop approaches and responses to mitigate risk and leverage opportunities.
- Navigate the sensitivities of a matrix organisation and a high profile, complex and politically sensitive operating environment while adhering to media and communication protocols.
- Appropriate qualifications and senior level experience in media, public relations, journalism or other relevant discipline within the government sector and/or a large corporate organisation.
- After hours and weekend on call work is required as part of a team roster.
- Extensive experience developing and implementing media strategies and initiatives for contentious public issues within complex, large organisations and fast-paced, reactive environments.
- Experience analysing and interpreting complex, sensitive information from numerous sources to prepare and present appropriate advice and responses
