Working for the fastest growing Council in Australia, the Senior Media & Communications Media Advisor will be responsible for identifying and generating proactive Media and promotional opportunities, managing Council's relationship with the media, delivering proactive and reactive media content and providing strategic media advice and direction to the origination. Background information / Compatibility requirements Essential criteria (must haves): - Experience in writing for government, executive or similar Media and Communications. - Highly developed written, verbal and analytical skills, including ability to write engaging media releases, speeches and media briefing notes that are relevant, timely, accurate and have a high impact. - Extensive experience in dealing with the Media and preparing responses on behalf of people on various levels in the organisation. To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment that COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended. To meet Council's Risk requirements, the agency that provides the successful applicant for this position is required to have a minimum professional indemnity insurance coverage of 5 million dollars ($5,000,000).
