What you will do
As our Senior Media and Content Officer, you will:
- Engage directly with the media reactively and proactively, including preparing media releases, responses and speaking points;
- Anticipate, identify and analyse major/sensitive/political issues before they arise and prepare appropriate responses or strategies for senior stakeholders;
- Provide general Media and communication advice to stakeholders to maximise our reach across departmental, Media and industry channels;
- Suggest, write and edit compelling content that promotes the work of the department on its various social Media and other channels including newsletters,
using imagery, infographics and videography;
- Explore new channels and stay up to date with the latest Media and social media trends to continuously improve how we communicate and engage our stakeholders;
- Generate reports on media/social media/digital coverage of specific issues or business areas as requested, and share insights with your communication and
engagement colleagues and stakeholders.
- Participate in the weekend on-call media roster.

What you will bring (qualifications, registrations, experience)
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, the experience and skills
outlined are highly desirable:
- Experience working with mainstream media across print, radio and online mediums,
- Well-developed skills in copywriting, editing, proofing and developing targeted and persuasive communication content in a digital environment,
- Experience scheduling, reporting and analysing digital content using a range of digital tools,
- Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies for campaigns.
