The role
Reporting to the Team Leaders – Media and Issues Unit, you will provide general strategic media, issues management and reputational risk advice to internal stakeholders. You will also be responsible for strategizing approaches to media enquiries including developing responses, and identifying, planning, and creating positive and proactive media strategies and campaigns suitable for a range of traditional media platforms.
You will assist with the development of media plans, addressing a wide range of communication activities including issues and crisis management.
The successful person
To be successful in this role you will have a comprehensive understanding and a breadth of knowledge in planning and implementing complex and creative media strategies in a high-pressure environment across traditional media platforms. You will also have strong experience in effective communication with a proven ability to research, write and disseminate high quality media materials within tight deadlines and to a high standard, including media releases, responses to media enquiries, news articles, and speeches.
In addition to this, you will have the proven ability to communicate with influence, interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to cultivate productive working relationships and networks.
