Benefits:

Generous remuneration packages from $203,383 to $257,349 p.a. including:

• Base salary rates between $84.71- $97.84 p.h. (L13-L24, dependent upon qualifications, skills and experience).

The role  

Permanent role, approx. 40 hours p.f.

FIFO - 10 hour shifts on an 8 on / 20 off monthly roster.

The facility is a Level 2 remote hospital under the Rural and Remote Clinical Services Capability Framework.

Your primary role will be as the sole doctor will be providing clinical care for the community.  As such you will be seeing patients in 3 clinical settings: firstly, in a primary care clinic; secondly in the Emergency Department; and thirdly as in-patients on the ward.

Requirements

• FRACRRM, FRACGP + FARGP preferred.
• Procedural skill in either Emergency Medicine (GEM preferred), JCCA, DRANZCOG advanced, Remote Medicine or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health.
• L18-L24 appointment requires advanced skills in Anaesthetics, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Remote Medicine or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health.
• Mandatory requirements are an MBBS or equivalent tertiary degree qualification and registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate.
• VPD risk roles may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and COVID-19.
• This role may require a 6-month period of probation.

The location

MORNINGTON ISLAND (GUNANA) is located north of Mt Isa in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 28km from the mainland.

The largest of the North Wellesley Islands located in the Gulf of Carpentaria it is currently home to a community of approximately 1500 people.

The Island achieved self-governance in 1978 and is now controlled by the Mornington Shire Council.

The Traditional Owners of Mornington Island are the Lardil people.
