The Senior Mental Health Rehabilitation Clinician will plan, coordinate and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised rehabilitation knowledge to ensure high quality service provision to Mental Health consumers, consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.
If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

Selection Criteria: * Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligible for membership with AASW. Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Psychology (with a minimum four-year degree with a major in Psychology and registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia) and registered with AHPRA . Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 to be registered with AHPRA with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or experience deemed relevant to this role.
- Extensive experience in Mental Health clinical and vocational rehabilitation with knowledge of best practice principles and models of practice; and ability to plan, implement and evaluate individual and group rehabilitation programs
- Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation, and a strengths based and recovery focused approach in service provision.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
- Ability to provide in-depth advice, education and supervision to staff to enhance service excellence
- Ability to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or complex nature
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement and service evaluation processes
- Current class C NSW Drivers Licence
