Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our established and dedicated team. Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team that is responsible for life of mine (LOM) planning and rolling 5-year business planning (5YBP), including annual budget and LOM plans, annual reserves preparation, and optimisation studies. This team applies a world-class integrated strategic planning approach to optimising mine plans, including cutoff / cutover grades, to maximize net present value. You will be responsible for: Ensuring maximum value is realised by providing direction on optimal ore body sequencing, stockpiling strategy and cutoff/cutover grades, and feed delivery to the Plant, while ensuring adequate tailings storage capacity Creating mine plans and material balance schedules (5YBP, LOM, Strategic) Preparing and communicate plans supporting the long-term development of the orebody Generating optimized pit shells and communicating the direction of the mining sequence to all stakeholders Preparing detailed pit designs and release packs Preparing information for the annual reserve statements Completing optimisation studies, including evaluating new ore resources and mine expansion opportunities About You This role would suit a degree qualified Mining Engineer, with a demonstrated record of accomplishment of success working in a Senior Mining Engineering capacity for at least 10 years, including a substantial amount of that time in an open-cut mining environment. Murrin Murrin Operations is looking for someone with the following attributes : 10 years Mine Engineering experience 5 years Mine Planning experience 3 years open pit nickel (laterite) experience Mine Planning experience should include: Life of Mine / Long-range / Strategic planning Reserves assessment / evaluation / reporting JORC / Competent Person or NI 43-101 / Qualified Person (Preferred) The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively Experience with mine design and Mine Planning software, and advanced computer skills across the Microsoft Office suite Experience with Python (preferred) WA C-Class manual drivers’ licence (preferred) What We Offer We offer a diverse range of opportunities across our multi-pit mining operations through to our complex and technically challenging hydrometallurgical process plant.
