Senior Network Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary objective of the Senior Network Engineer is to join Seccom Global’s project implementation team, owning projects independently from end to end. The successful applicant will need to have strong design and documentation skills, as well as network and security fundamentals and very strong routing skills.

Building strong customer relationships will be key to the success of this role and will require a high level of customer focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills. This role may be required to assist with some presales engagement and provide technical support to the Seccom Global Sales Team via project design and implementation.  Liaising with the BAU support team in the SNOC, to handover completed projects will be a requirement, as well as managing 3rd party stakeholders on projects.

The role will also encompass assistance with supporting the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the inhouse information systems that support our core organisational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimising all networked hardware and software. It also includes involvement in design and implementation of new products and services.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Work on projects as assigned with designated Project Manager
• Define technical project requirements for allocated projects and scope and communicate to customer
• Manage project deliverables end to end, including design and as built documentation, as well as managing issues
• Assist with pre-sales engagements including assisting sales team with proposals and creating design documentation
• Assist in developing the technical elements and effort associated to input into customer proposals as required, inclusive of understanding customer requirements.

 KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

 Education and Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Degree qualification in relevant field or equivalent industry experience is highly desirable, however CCNA or TAFE Networking Diploma are well regarded depending on experience.
• Fortinet Certified (minimum NSE7, with FCP or FCSS/FCX highly desirable

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

•  CISCO CCNP Enterprise or CCIE Enterprise highly desirable
•  Any Check Point, Palo Alto, Juniper, F5, AWS, and Azure certifications would be an added advantage.
•  Any Security Certifications like CISSP,CCSP and comptia security+ would be an added advantage.

Essential Experience

• Networking Architecture and Security Concepts
• Excellent switching, routing, and troubleshooting skills.
• Extensive knowledge of routing protocols like OSPF and BGP
• Experience in PBR and route manipulations.
• Experience in Enterprise Firewall Installation and Migrations
• Experience in IPSec and SSL VPN deployments and troubleshooting.
• Experience with VoIP and QoS concepts and troubleshooting
• Good understanding of WAN/MAN technologies like Internet, 4G/5G, MPLS, VPLS, DarkFiber, and satellite (LEO/GEO).
• Good understanding of application load balancing and Security technologies like LTM,GTM and WAF
• Good understanding of DNS and PKI concepts
• Experience in AD,LDAP,RADIUS,SSO and SAML integration and Troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of AWS and Azure CSP technologies
• Experience in firewall management and log management platforms like FortiManager/Analyzer or Check Point MDS/MLM
• Understand Industrial Security Standards and Network and Cloud Security Best Practices
• Experience UTM functions like antivirus, anti- malware, anti-spam, Web Filtering, intrusion detection and prevention, content filtering and DLP
• Experience LAN wifi deployments and troubleshooting.
• Understanding design concepts for a defence in depth strategy
• Zero Trust Concepts
• Security driven architectural designs
• Accountability and Ownership of assigned projects
• Time Management and On time Project delivery 
•  Self driven but should be an Excellent Team Player

Desirable Experience

• Pre-sales support experience
• Preferably has work experience in a Security company or MSSP
• Ideally has worked on large-scale network migration projects
