Senior Officer Technical (Electrical)

Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $93,611, plus up to 13% superannuation

Role Overview

The Senior Officer Technical (Electrical) will plan and lead the delivery of electrical services, projects and associated works. The position will devise and implement operational, maintenance and resource plans to manage risk, achieve sustainable service levels and ensure maintenance programs are completed within budget.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience in electronic lighting control systems eg. DALI, Cbus, Dynalite, DMX.
  • Significant experience with sport field lighting (design review, aiming procedure, engineering approval process).
  • Experience in renewable energy installations (Solar PV and battery backup).
  • Extensive experience in programming, project planning, resources planning and contractor management, ensuring maintenance work are effectively monitored and delivered within time and budget constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience leading trade related teams in the delivery of maintenance programs.
  • Substantial knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Protection legislation, Electrical Act and regulations, Quality Assurance processes and standards, and maintenance standards and methodologies.
  • Experience providing specialist trade related advice to ensure adherence with legislation and other standards.
  • Computer literacy enabling proficient use of business computer applications, customer request management systems, records management systems and procurement management systems
  • Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained.
  • Queensland Electrical Work Licence for Electrical Fitter/Mechanic

Essential Requirements: 

  • Facilitate programs of electrical works for both operational and capital delivery within budget and resource constraints and required timeframes.
  • Lead trade-related teams in the delivery of maintenance programs, capital delivery and complex technical projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Conduct regular assessments, including site inspections and audits to determine maintenance needs and ensure that works are compliant with agreed standards and instructions.
  • Provide specialist trade related advice to the department on Regulations and Act compliance to ensure the organisation adheres with legislation and other standards.
  • Undertake procurement activities to ensure value for money is achieved in the planning, specification and delivery of electrical works and services.
  • Investigate and report on public requests and complaints as required.
  • Perform any other duties that are reasonably within the competency, skills and training of this position as may be directed from time to time.
