As part of the pathway to energy transition my client has created a role for a Senior Offshore Wind Engineer to support the development of two Offshore Wind assets off the coast of Australia, with a significant future pipeline of fixed bottom and floating farms to follow. The successful candidate will play a critical role on the feasibility, technical specifications, management and engagement of consultants, turbine suppliers and construction contractors to deliver these solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers and Industry consultants.
- Preparation of long-term wind Energy Yield Assessments and draft site layouts focussed on offshore projects.
- Evaluating production variables such as wind speed, project layout, water depth, foundation types, floating structures, anchoring methods, and wind turbine models for offshore projects
- Develop methodologies for construction of offshore wine turbine facilities.
- Excel in the provision of assessment of Offshore Wind turbine projects including balance of plant such as foundations, anchoring etc (onshore technology would be highly regarded as well)
- Compliance with engineering policies, procedures and regulations and standards to ensure that the asset integrity of the plant and personnel safety is assured
About you:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Offshore Wind industry in a developer or consultant setting
- Engineering qualifications with a strong knowledge of Electrical and Grid to shore transmission
- Deep knowledge of Balance of Plant systems, requirements, and execution for Offshore Wind projects
- Significant experience in the Wind Energy feasibility analysis, planning, construction, operation, maintenance
- An understanding and appreciation of both commercial and technical risk
- Ability to operate in a high performing team or autonomously as required.
- Flexible and collaborative approach to stakeholder management both internally and externally.
- This role will require some interstate travel, sometimes at short notice.
- My client would prefer this role to be based in Brisbane, however Sydney or Melbourne are also options.
