Prelude Australia are currently seeking a Team Leader (Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist) for a Full-time position in our Kurri Kurri team.

The Team Leader is part of the Prelude Australia Leadership Team. The Team Leader is responsible for leading an innovative and collaborative transdisciplinary team of Early Childhood Teachers and Allied Health Professionals to provide early childhood intervention and therapy supports to children and their families to assist their development, well-being and to participate in meaningful activities and routines in the home, education settings and community.

Duties include:

  • Leading day to day operational management of 8-10 staff
  • Oversee your team's productivity and wellness to ensure optimal satisfaction and well-being for all staff.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and Executive Leadership team to develop and implement Prelude Australia’s organisation strategic plan including best practice strategies, and drive the implementation of crucial initiatives with your team.
  • Provide regular reports on team performance and expectations directly to the Service Manager.
  • Maintain workload allocation, ensuring all team members are occupied effectively and contributing to overall productivity.
  • Engage in ongoing consultation with the Service Manager to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing service delivery, offering consistent updates, feedback and proactive solutions.
  • Lead by example by actively implementing best practices and interventions in your own caseload, setting a standard for the team to follow.

Essential Requirements and Selection Criteria:

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology
  • Current registration with relevant peak body (E.g., AHPRA, SPA).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership to teams and contribute to building a team focused on providing quality early childhood intervention and therapy supports.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess priorities and manage competing deadlines both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Effective coaching skills to enhance the skills of individual team members, teams and maintain a collaborative and relationship-based team culture.
  • A high level of adaptable written and oral communication skills to communicate complex information with team members, families, and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience delivering early childhood intervention through the transdisciplinary key worker model of practice with children living with developmental delay and disability.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in partnership with local child and family services.

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability and experience to inspire and implement innovative change.
  • Experience delivering telepractice therapy supports to families.
